A Bachelorette Party for Your Special Bride

With wedding season upon us, your dear MOH and bridesmaids are probably getting their heads together and beginning to plan the anticipated bachelorette party. For those who have not yet planned a bachelorette party, they may have a few questions lingering in their heads, like “what exactly is a bachelorette party?”, “who is invited to this party?”, or “what should the theme be?”

Well, a bachelorette party is a get-together to honour the bride, celebrate their friendship and her upcoming married life.  It is attended by your bridal party and the closest female family and friends.  Some may even invite their mothers.  It is meant to be a bonding experience.

When planning a bachelorette party, remember that this should be all about the bride.  Take into account her style, hobbies and interests.  Also, think of what you all have shared together as friends.  This will help in creating theme that will be memorable for her and for the bridal party too.

Here’s a few tips when planning a bachelorette –

  1. Get the entire bridal party involved. Compile the bridal party’s ideas for themes.
  2. Once the theme is decided, create your budget. Include all expenses – invitations, meal, rentals party favour, travel expenses (if it is out-of-town).  This budget should include the cost for the bride-to-be. Don’t forget, she is the “Guest of Honour”!
  3. Evenly delegate a task or two and the cost of the party amongst the entire bridal party. This always minimizes conflict.

Stumped on a theme idea?  Here are some party ideas that might be a fun choice, based on the bride-to-be’s style, hobbies & interests!
