I met our couple, Sylvie and Bjon through a mutual friend. They chose me to be their Wedding Coordinator. They also trusted me to provide them with décor and centerpieces for their reception. They are both easy going, so helping them finalize details for their big day was such a breeze.
Their wedding was very intimate. They had a guest list of approximately 70. You must be absolutely special to make this list, according to their emcee, a special friend of the couple. Held at the McLean House at the Estates of Sunnybrook, this historic venue is nestled in midtown Toronto. McLean House is one of 3 historic buildings within the estate converted into a private event venue. It has a beautiful lush garden and a quaint patio perfect for hosting your wedding ceremony.
Our couple’s chosen theme colour was yellow, the bride’s favourite colour. Their ceremony was held outside the patio. To complement Mclean’s lush green garden, the bride’s bridesmaid provided her with DIY décor made up of yellow silk flowers for the bridal signing table, at the ceremony altar and for the ceremony pew décor. Inside the estate, she also made chair wraps for each guest chairs made in tulle with yellow silk flowers. For centerpieces, we made an arrangement made with a cluster of white hydrangea accented with yellow carnations and to add some sparkle, we added some crystal water beads inside each arrangement. Each of their guests took home a bottle of the couple’s favourite tea, Oprah Chai, a DIY of the bride. For their guest seat chart, we used a mirror and written in calligraphy are all guest names and table numbers. Instead of the traditional guest-signing book, the couple asked each guest to write a message and leave them inside a bottle. We also provided the couple with a special swiveling locked box, which displayed their engagement photos and also served as their moneybox. The windowsills around the hall, stairs and outside the patio were lighted with luminaries to give that romantic feel. Overall, we were able to bring to life the vision the bride wanted for their big day.
The wedding of Sylvie and Bjon reflected their true personality; simple, elegant, and fun. From the beginning till the end, we didn’t run short of laughter, dancing and LOVE!
