Shauna and Mike are extreme nature lovers. This family love to camp outdoors and are both passionate for being earth-friendly. Both Shauna and Mike are active volunteers for Scouts Canada, which their son is a member. Mike is an ex-army member.
When Shauna reached out and asked me to plan their wedding and she described her vision of their big day, which includes bonfire & s’mores, I had to go outside the box and think unconventional. For this nature loving family, no better place to have a ceremony and reception but a conservation park. Albion Hills Conservation Area in Caledon, Ontario became the venue for their wedding. Shauna & Mike was able to have their lakefront ceremony and the relaxed outdoor picnic for their reception.
Majority of the elements we used for this wedding are either recycled or compostable materials. From the used pallets for the tables and menu board, card box made out of used wood, used wood for the signs, wood fruit baskets, burlap tablecloths, paper napkins & plates and wooden spoons. This eco-wedding was entirely eco-friendly.
We made no spare on the details for this wedding. Our bride made certain that we incorporate special details about their family: their son’s love for Lego, the “Tank you” cards for her husband’s army background and her love for butterflies.
This wedding was very low-key and stayed to true to what is important to them: enjoying time with family and close friends.
